Our Sincere Condolences on the passing of Beverley Beech

We are deeply saddened by the new of Beverley's passing. One of our board member, Akiko, had a very personal relationship with Beverley. She remembers Beverley and shared her fond memories of Beverley: "Thank you so much Beverley Beech for your dedication to birth, and the rights of women. You will always have a place in our hearts and spirit of Doulaship Japan." Announcement from AIMS Facebook Post on Feb 26, 2023: "AIMS is saddened at the loss of Beverley Lawrence Beech, one of the greats of maternity services campaigning. She was Chair of AIMS for forty years and played a leading role in making AIMS an influential voice at national level.

She wrote forcefully on many maternity issues, especially around human rights and consent, with her influence extending well beyond the UK.

She was an inspiration to a generation of birth activists and never lost her passion for improving the maternity services. Her challenging and compassionate voice will be missed, and those who worked with her will miss her insightfulness and sharp wit.

Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this sad time." https://www.facebook.com/AIMSUK/
